Animal experimentation is all around us, but many people don’t realize it. That mascara you put on this morning? Yeah… Even the company that likely made that tape sitting on your desk - 3M - tests on animals. Many of us care for pets - dogs, cats, hamsters, hedgehogs - lovingly, every day, but the unfortunate truth is… laboratories don’t. And it doesn’t even have to be that way.
So the common questions: why should I care? Isn’t animal testing in place just so we don’t test on humans? Because this:
You can still have your makeup, your lotions, but without having to put animals through torture for it. There are plenty of emerging alternatives to animal testing in modern science, including in vitro testing and simulations, that do not harm animals, and do not involve testing on humans.
I created this PSA to spread awareness about the issue of animal experimentation, and emailed several newspapers about publishing it, only to be ignored, if not rejected. Do they really not care enough?
So it’s up to you, Internet. Reblog this, share it, do whatever you can to help. Throw your support behind the new Humane Cosmetics Act, which will end animal testing, but right now has little chance of being passed.
Save the animals! (Do it for the kitten videos you watch on YouTube every day <3)
